What are the room accommodations like?

Rooms are double occupancy with two beds. Bathrooms are in-room (hotel style).

Are there ways to still be involved virtually?

All activities except from social media engagement will take place in-person during Convention.

Is attendance in-person required?

To maintain an active charter, each chapter is required to send two delegates (voting representatives of the chapter who plan to still be enrolled at the chapter in upcoming semester) to our Annual Meeting of Members and participate in Convention, which at this time is only occurring in-person. If you are concerned or unsure about what to do about travels, please reach out to Natasha Lyons, convention@sigmaalphaomega.org. If you are unsure how your chapter may secure delegates, please reach out to Madeline Morrow, secretary@sigmaalphaomega.org and include your chapter's assigned National Mentor.

I am an alumna. Can I attend? What is there for me to do if I am not a delegate either?

Alumnae are VERY welcome and encouraged to attend Convention! It is the perfect place to reunite with sisters and create bonds with both college-enrolled and fellow alumnae sisters. There will be alumnae-specific perks throughout the weekend, including a special alumnae luncheon, Bible study and activities! Check out the ALUMNAE tab!

When should I book travel to Convention?

We cannot advise you of when to purchase your flight or arrange vehicle accommodations, but we encourage you to do so as soon as possible for the best options. Our venue does not have a parking fee. Please take a look at our TRAVEL INFO tab to find out more about group carpooling, airport shuttling, and more.

What do I need to do if I have an allergy or medical special accommodation need?

Registration provides an opportunity for you to list any dietary or special accommodations needed. However, we understand that sometimes it is easier to plan when you know what to expect! Feel free to email Natasha Lyons, events@sigmaalphaomega.org, and Madeline Morrow, secretary@sigmaalphaomega.org, to ensure you get your questions answered so you can feel confident in planning your convention getaway with your sisters!

FAQs

Is this weekend only meant for delegates and active sisters?

THE MORE THE MERRIER! We encourage all sisters young and wise to attend, learn from and with one another, and engage in all of the amazing activities we have planned! The more chapter and alumnae participation, the stronger and healthier our sisterhood will be to the glory of God!

How are we conducting the mandatory Annual Meeting of Members this year?

The Annual Meeting of Members that all chapter and association delegates are required to attend will be in-person only. Streaming/casting will not be available this year due to minimal participation last year not making the technical challenge and attention worthwhile. More information will be posted as announcements in MySAO, email, as well as on the AMOM tab here on this site. To ensure you receive updates, please log in to your member account on MySAO.org to update your email address. Unsure of how to log in? Email Meghan Williams, incoming Director of Membership, at meghan.williams@sigmaalphaomega.org.

I don't have anyone to room with...should I go?

YES! You'll be matched up with sisters from your chapter or another chapter. This is a great opportunity to meet another sister who also may not have had a roommate.

I live locally/would prefer to sleep off-campus. Can I get a discount for my rate since I won't be staying overnight on-campus?

Since Convention is a retreat-like experience and on in an all-inclusive convention facility, we encourage every participant to be "all-in" for the weekend, and we do not allow attendees to stay off-site (medical needs excepting). We want every participant to take full advantage of meeting new sisters and participating in all events. Additionally, travel to and from off-site, non-Convention locations puts the National Organization at a higher liability risk for any incidents that may occur as our insurance does not cover incidents unrelated to the prescribed locations for the event.

I don’t know if I can afford it. Is there financial aid?

There are grants you can apply for to gain financial assistance to attend Convention whether you are a delegate or non-delegate. Due to delegation being a chapter requirement for good standing, Delegate travel and registration costs should be funded by their home chapter/association. We also encourage all chapters and alumnae associations to hold fundraisers throughout the year so chapters can help alleviate the cost of Convention for sisters attending! Please visit our FUNDING OPTIONS tab for more details.

I can't find the check-in or check-out times. Where are they located?

Please head over to the TRAVEL INFO tab or the SCHEDULE tab for more information!

Can I come for just a portion of Convention?

We are not offering part-time or day passes for Convention 2026, but you may leave convention early of your own accord. (Please note for chapters to receive credit, delegates must be present for the Annual Meeting of Members at minimum.) Pro-rated rates or partial refunds are also not provided.

I read there is an awards ceremony. How do I nominate someone? What is the attire?

You can nominate any sisters (and even a non-sister for one!) for any outstanding achievements on the AWARDS tab beginning February 1, 2026. Plan for a semi-formal/cocktail evening reception for the Awards Ceremony.

I need to cancel my registration. Can I get a refund?

Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds due to the nature of estimations supplied to our venue and caterers. However, we potentially can swap attendees if there is enough notice and you have someone lined up to take your spot. Please read our policy at the REGISTRATION tab.
